How can Python interface with Shopify to track new orders?

I writing some code to have python interface with Shopify and create a file when a new order is received. I'm having trouble finding in the documentation where when a new order is placed in shopify I can collect the order details. Does anyone know where I can get more information on a python bot "watching" for new orders?
