I have a coupon code that is automatically sent to my customers via email after they do a review on their purchase. I want to limit the number of times each customer can use the code to 2 times per calendar year. The app that I am using to send them the code does limit the number of times the auto email is sent, but I still had to create the code in the regular Shopify Discounts location and there is no option when creating the discount code to limit to 2 times per calendar year, per customer.
There are only two options under Usage Limits.
Neither of those options work for me. If anyone knows how this can work, I'd certainly appreciate it.
Thanks for no help Shopify. You guys really suck at customer service.
What I'd do here.
Make 2 coupon codes (random values) valid until 12/31 of this year.
Send your customer those 2 coupon codes and say "You've scored these 2 XX% discount codes. Each one is one-time use and can't be shared."
Each code is set to "Once per customer"
Then every December 31 create 2 new discounts valid for next year and update your template with the next year's new codes.
