Question about employee/customer discount code referral program

I work for a fine chocolatier and I spoke with my boss about a type of referal program where, via a discount code entered online by a customer who received the discount code from me., I would receive 5% of the sale and the customer would receive 5% off the sale, for a grand total of 10% off the entire online order. The custom code would be printed on a small card and passed out to friends and family with samples. The 5% off for the customer would be incentive for them to place an order and enter the code and the other 5% off the order would be a reward for the employee for getting a new customer. 

I understand how to do a 5% discount for the customer via a discount code but it'd be great if there was a way to also keep track of the 5% being allocated to the employee. Obviously the manual way would be to just look at how many sales occurred from the particular discount code and just do the math yourself and whatnot but if there was a way where it would automatically keep track of this amount that would be great. If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it.
