"Max Metaobjects" issue?

This error will be a show-stopper for us if we cannot fix this.  We need over 6000 Avatar Metaobjects.

Liquid error (sections/avatar-categories line 299): Exceeded maximum number of unique metaobjects accessed for type avatars.

You can display all the data by using pagination.

  We use Pagination, it goes something like this:

We have 20 categories of avatars; Steampunk, Cowboys Armed Services etc etc, if you are on page 1 you can see all the Armed Services avatars and the filtering we have in place for gender and age works fine.  If you then select a category, none of whose entries are on page 1, you get nothing!

We have 149 (at this point) pages and it seems you have to be on the page with the avatars you want before they appear.  As there are only a few page selection options available it would take an age to get to the Mermaids category (alphabetically) and longer for the Romans.  We just want to list all the category avatars at one time, no pagination, just a lazy scroll of all the images you can choose from.  Pagination is, in fact, the issue.
