All things Shopify and commerce
Customers are seeing a "Sold out" message where "Add to cart" should be, after they have added around 80 to 100 items. The error is being triggered by the Add to Cart button being clicked so many times.
To overcome this one customer tried to place smaller orders of 25 items, however when his total orders on the day hit 100, the "Sold out" message appeared.
Before July 2023 customers were able to place large orders of 300 items and more.
The site in question is a wholesale site for greeting cards, so a customer will ovent order a few hundred items at a time.
Has anyone else come across this issue?
Is there an app that could help us get around this?
I raised this with Partner Support and their final comment was "Our development team is currently looking into this further on our end for you in order to see if there is a way to prevent this from occurring. Given the potential complexity of the issue, I'm not able to give any kind of timeline as to when this may be resolved."
Hey, maybe you can add the quantity as a variant option, if items don't have any variants or if variants are created as separate products
Thanks for your idea, Noiseymur. However the greeting cards don't have variants. They are in sets of 9, so one item is 9 cards which is enough for most retailers. The trouble ir they often need 150 to 300 different cards for their business.
