Is it possible to generate a report that lists all my inventory that is currently out of stock but that shows the date it was last in stock?
I have a lot of hand made products where the lead time can be more than a year but for some of them, I'd like to either archive them or create a new "long term out of stock template" and be able to flag these extremely long lead time times while removing some older products that we'd unlikely get more of.
Shopify reports lack "last in stock" data, but here's a workaround:

AFAIR, Shopify does not store when product was in stock last time.
So, no easy way to do this for old data.
However, from now on, you can save this info yourself with Flow each time your product inventory goes below 0.
Separate flow can run daily, check this previously saved data and then do whatever you want.
Shopify does not have much in the way of historical inventory data. Some their-party apps track the history and/or could tell you when it was last sold - which might be more relevant. App examples would be Report Toaster, Better Reports, etc.
Hi @welcomebrand ,
Shopify reports currently do not have the option to view a list of all your out-of-stock items along with the last date they were in stock.
However, if you're open to using a reporting tool, you can check out Report Pundit. It can help you achieve this and perform other data tasks easily. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
Cheers,

Claudia here from Better Reports.
Have you been able to find a solution? If not, I would recommend our app Better Reports for this.
We can create an inventory report showing items with 0 inventory along with the date they last sold, making the assumption that this is when they went out of stock.
In addition to this, Better Reports has more than 60 built-in reports available out of the box that cover many common use cases for merchants. You can schedule reports to run at set frequencies to your email or Google Drive or export the reports in CSV, Excel or PDF format.
I encourage you to install Better Reports and start your free 14-day trial and I'll be happy to set this up for you.
