All things Shopify and commerce
Runwells.com is a scam that uses Shopify. Phone number doesn't work. I did not receive a confirmation email. I contacted them by email and only received partial reply's in broken English. They claim to sell silver coins at half the market price luring in people like me to make bulk purchases on which they do not deliver. I would be thankful to you to at least investigate and hopefully shut them down and prosecute them. Thank You. Also I would like my $190 back.
Hi @tiwarichris
Sorry to hear about your experience. There are scams everywhere and it becomes harder to distinguish a real from a scam store.
First, try with your bank to complain and stop the transaction if possible.
But I must tell you that the site is not using Shopify. If you inspect any image or CSS file you will see in its patch a "wp-content". So it does use Wordpress and Woocommerce. Nevertheless, they do look like shady business. If you check Wayback Machine https://web.archive.org/web/20240201000000*/http://runwells.com/ you can see a few snapshots of stores that were run before on that domain. Some different kinds of products with big discounts, running last 2-3 years. And that store was on Shopify. But the current look and change to WordPress is recent.
You can try to report them first to GoDaddy https://www.godaddy.com/en-ph/help/reporting-abuse-27154 maybe as phishing or malware.
Then similar report can be sent to the hosting company https://www.hostinger.com/report-abuse
Not sure if that will be enough but you could try.
Good luck.
