Response Code 429 (Too Many Requests) while using /cart/add.js Ajax API

I have been using the Ajax API to retrieve cart details by utilizing the POST /{locale}/cart/add.js endpoint. However, we encountered an error: "Client error: POST https://{store}/cart/add.js resulted in a 429 Too Many Requests response."

After reviewing the documentation, I discovered that for Ajax API requests, there is no specific hard limit imposed. Therefore, I would like to understand the underlying cause of this scenario and also inquire about any possible request limits for the Ajax API.
