Same product, different URLs, shared inventory – looking for app

Same product, different URLs, shared inventory – looking for app

Hi everyone,

I need some advice or a recommendation for a Shopify app that can handle the following:

We have a unisex product (e.g. shoes) that we want to display separately in both the men’s and women’s categories – each with its own unique URL and different photos. However, both versions should share the same inventory.

For example, if we have 5 items in stock, that quantity should apply to both product versions. And if one is sold, the stock should automatically decrease for the other as well.

Does anyone know how to solve this? I’m open to paid apps – I just haven’t found one that supports this specific use case.

Thanks a lot in advance for any tips or experiences! 🙏

Milan

Hi @litvi ,

What you're describing is a shared inventory setup where the same physical product is listed under two separate product pages, each with its own URL and images, but stock is linked between them.

Since Shopify doesn’t support this out of the box, you’ll need an app or a workaround to sync the inventory between the two listings.

Recommended Apps:

Connected Inventory by InsCoder

Allows you to link multiple products or variants to share the same inventory.

Automatically syncs inventory across linked items when one is sold.

Supports separate URLs and images.

[Available on Shopify App Store – Paid]

Trunk Inventory

Great for managing shared inventory across products (even across platforms).

Real-time syncing.

Easy to set up for Shopify duplicate products.

[Paid app with trial]

Syncio or Sumtracker

More advanced inventory syncing tools (mainly for multi-store, but can work for your use case with custom setup).

Alternative Workaround (no app):

If you don’t want to use an app:

Use variants within a single product.

Each variant can have its own images (e.g., “Men” and “Women”).

Create custom collection filters or smart navigation to show the product differently in Men’s and Women’s collections.

But: URLs won’t be fully separate this way.

Go with Connected Inventory by InsCoder for your case — it's designed for exactly this situation.

Hi @litvi

You can achieve this setup using Easify Inventory Sync.

It lets you connect multiple Shopify products to share the same inventory. So you can create two separate product pages (e.g. one for men, one for women), each with unique URLs, titles, and images — but both will pull from the same inventory source. When one sells, the stock count updates on both automatically. Here's how it works:

  1. Set up an Inventory Group: Use the app to create Inventory Groups that group your 2 products in 2 collections, and set mutual inventory
  2. How does it work? When 1 shoes product in women's category is purchased, both shoes in men's and women's category will be reduced by 1 (or you can say the shared inventory will automatically be reduced by 1) ensuring that the inventory of your products is tracked.

This app is very beginner-friendly, I hope you will try it. If you need any further assistance setting this up, please let me know or reach out to Easify! 🤗

Hi @litvi

I just wanted to check in to see if you still need any help or if you’re fully set up now.

If you’re still looking for an app that can handle linked inventory across multiple product listings, I highly recommend Sumtracker.

Sumtracker is an excellent solution for your use case. It allows you to display the same product in multiple categories with different photos and URLs while keeping the inventory synced in real time.

It’s highly rated on the Shopify App Store with a 4.9★ rating and has also been recommended by Shopify as one of the best apps for managing linked stock and product bundles.

You can read more about how it works for in this blog: How to manage inventory for the same products listed multiple times on Shopify. Definitely worth a try!

Let me know if you want more info or help setting it up!
