Hello,
I have been receiving emails that my store is out of compliance. First they wanted me to update my API keys, which I did and I still receive emails that if I don't comply that my store would be disconnected from the Shopify server. Now they say that my SSL certificate is outdated and in order to receive a compatible SSL certificate I can't just update my free Dawn theme version, I would need to purchase a premium theme to get a license number, then I need to update my domain DSN settings and then I would be in compliance again. The emails I have been receiving are from a Gmail account.
Did anyone else receive emails like this? Is this a scam?
I just don't understand what my SSL certificate that I get for connecting my domain to Shopify has to do with a premium theme.

I have received this email too claiming I need to increase my API from: shopifylegalpolicy.team@gmail.com
they proceed to ask me to get help from a chat on telegram where they tried to get me to purchase different plans , luckily I realised it was a scam but they use a lot of words to make it seem confusing and urge you to complete it in 48 hours or your store will be restricted
Hello @Frances24 ,
Completely scam, block and ignore them.
btw I just want to let you know I'm a developer providing services but on average on a daily baes I receive around 10 emails back to back.
And believe me I mark each of them as spam.
Don't take such emails seriously and simply mark them and delete them.
Note: Shopify officials never use gmail to connect with their customers.
Regards
Guleria

Sounds like the emails that I received. I blocked them now. As soon as they wanted me to purchase something in order to fix the problem I suspected it was a scam, but I also didn't want my store shut down. So I came here to ask. Most of those scam emails I notice right away, but this scam took me a while.
