SCAM NOTICE !

Wow it took me weeks to figure out how to post here!  I've been having a bit of entertainment the last few days from scammers. Watch out when getting an email from  shopifymailing.uk.ca.us@gmail.com and shopifyteamqualityassurance@gmail.com

Here is the Email from them. 

Dear Store Admin,

This is a critical reminder regarding the ongoing compliance issue related to the violation of your theme's license code. Despite prior notices and instructions, no corrective action has been taken to address the matter.

As a result, the deactivation process for your store has already begun. To avoid permanent deactivation, you must resolve this issue within the next 6 hours. Failure to act within this timeframe will result in the permanent closure of your store, including the loss of all associated data and access. This action is irreversible.

Steps to Resolve:

1. Click the following link to connect with your assigned compliance assistant:

FAKE LINK _____________ CANT POST HERE 

1. Provide your ticket ID (AH230BD120) to ensure prompt assistance.

This matter is urgent and requires immediate attention. We strongly urge you to act now to prevent permanent account termination.

Now what I did was very funny, I went to the link which brought me to Whatsapp . I messaged this so-called Support Service and they asked for my ticket ID I was given from the email . I took the ticket ID and completely changed all letters and numbers and gave it to them, lol , after a few moments he came back to me and said he looked up my ticket ID and my website has bad coding and malware in it and I need to wire them $600.00 to fix it.

Then after I told this so called agent the ticket ID was fake and I made it up he quickly called me dumb and blocked me . 

Be careful with these shopify gmail emails .  I use a VPN so I'm never worried of anything .

Hi Sparky @sparky337  This gave me a very much needed laugh to start this week😂. It’s nice that you were able to quickly detect the dubious nature of the emails and deal with them as such. Unfortunately, a number of people still fall victim to these scams. I suggest that you file an official report to Shopify whenever you have the time, showing evidence such as the mails and the WhatsApp contact used to reach you so that they can be shutdown if possible and prevented from scamming other people.

I have reported it to Shopify numerous times, and they have told me (Best of luck) I don't really think they care.

It started again ! But the email has changed again !! It's fun to mess with these guys !

LOL yes ! They have de activated that email already , They should be back in a week or so.  It's so easy to catch them due to the email and proper spelling and grammar .
