Selecting product images after bulk upload

Hello,

I have seen articles which show how to bulk upload images to Shopify.  Fine, but I can't seem to find anywhere which shows how to select from those images when defining a product.  In the Media section under Product, the two options are to upload from your device (again if you have already bulk uploaded) or to Add from a URL.

I was advised to select the Insert Image button, but that adds the image to the description not the product media.

Surely, there must be a way to select from the Files section.  

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Hello Niyeepo1,

Would you be able to share a screenshot of that popup?  When I click on Add Image a File Explorer window pops up giving me the option to select files of my local drive. I don't see any tabs.

Hoping to be able to ask a question in relation to this. We have been using a third part software to bulk upload . We have been used to upload the images to the platform and having a reference to each image in the csv, to the extend that we reference multiple images for one product in a single single line for a product. We don't see any product images in our content folder currently even though we have a 100+ products listed with 2 images each. The only thing that is shown in the content files area is the backdrop images. Are we able to upload a csv and reference the images that are preloaded into Shopify folder. We also do a daily update file to update stock levels as we use a different primary software package to control our stock and pos.

Yes, seems strange you can't select directly from the Content > Files in the product page.
My workaround is to open the Content > Files and click on the copy link icon for the required image and then paste into the 'insert from URL' option.

Yes, I was hoping that instead of uploading again from desktop there should be way to select the images from content file. What's the point of uploading into content file when not able to use during product upload.

Hi! Did you figure it out? I'm having the same problem 😞 Why can't I choose from my shopify file folder the images I already uploaded to a product's media? Makes no sense....?

Hi, I have the same issue.

I tried this method but the problem is that it doesn't import already registered Alt Text to each image.

Did you find another solution?
