send already created automation email manually?

So, I've created a welcome automated email series with Shopify email marketing. However, there are a number of customers who have subscribed to my store earlier before I finished editing the series. Is there a way to send emails in the automation series manually to those customers? Can anyone tell me how to do this?

This is an accepted solution.

You can create a Segment name old customers in Customers, add old previous customers to this segment, create a new campaign and then send email to this segment only.

Never mind, I've figured it out, took a while though...

Same boat, how'd you do it?

Not sure if my method is the smartest way, but I don't have many customers yet. You can try: 'Customers' --> 'Segments', then choose “Create Segment” located on the top right corner. This will lead to a page with your customer list, tick those you want to add to your new segment. Click the action three dots (...) then "Add tags". On the popup, put whatever name you want to call your segment in the input field, then choose “Add”. After that it should show your “Newly Added” segment, click “Save”.  There you should have a new customer segment.

To send an email manually to a particular segment, you can do it through ‘Segments’ under ‘Customers’ and choose “Use segment” or go to your Email app and choose any segment under recipients (“To:”).

You can ‘Save as template’ any ‘Automations’ you’ve created, open an automation you want to save as a template, then on the top right corner next to ‘Edit’ there’s a “Save as template” button, click it. This will then show up as your option/template to use when sending email.

Hope this helps!

Thank you, I don't see a "Save as template" button on my automations though. I only have have "edit workflow" and "turn off automatization"  😕

On the page that you see "edit workflow" and "turn off automations", under "Marketing activities in this workflow" you should see a list of your activities/emails (e.g. welcome aboard, abandoned cart etc), click on any in the list, it'll open another page with "save as template" button on top right corner.

Ah, I see it for one email. I was hoping to use it for an entire automation that has a series of emails.

I found a potential solution for this for anyone still needed it. If you already have a new subscribe work flow setup, but your old customers have not yet been put into it this is what you can do. It will take some time since you have to do it one at a time, but it works.

Go to the customer profile for each customer and click on the 3 vertical dots on the right side by their information. Then click "edit marketing setting" when the new box pops up, uncheck "Customer agreed to receive marketing emails" and then click save. Repeat the process by opening up the "edit marketing setting" box again and this time check the box that says "Customer agreed to receive marketing emails" and save.

This should put the customer immediately into your new subscriber automation work flow. Like I said if you have a lot of customers you need to add this will take time, because you have to do it for each one individually.

Hope this helps!
