All things Shopify and commerce
Hello.
I am trying to set up Facebook ads and it will not let me. First it said I had to remove my Facebook business from my instagram. I did. then once I tried to remove the business Facebook from my Pages I get this message:
Hello @ftobrand,
Welcome to Shopify Community!
It sounds like there may be a connection between your Facebook Business Manager account, your Instagram account, and your Shopify account that is causing some confusion.
It's likely that your Facebook Business Manager account is connected to an Instagram Business account, and that Instagram account is connected to a Shopify account.
What I think you should do In order to remove the Facebook page from Business Manager, you will need to either convert the linked Instagram account to a personal account, or change the Page linked to your Instagram business profile.
On the Shopify side, It's likely that you need permission to edit the catalog connected to the Shopify account. You might try reaching out to the Business Manager admin to request access to the necessary permissions to link your assets, or assign you Manage catalog permissions.
It is also possible that there is something else causing the issue, so if you still have trouble, please contact Facebook and Shopify support to get more help troubleshoot.
Hell @ftobrand ,
I think you removed yourself from facebook business manager.
First add yourself. And you don't need switch to personal profile from instagram professional account.
Thank you
Hey Rasel,
My personal Facebook is still added under people. Idk what else I would have to add.
I am also having this issue. Did you find a solution?
The instagram error is as it says, go to settings and revert the type of account. As for the catalog and other permission errors...There are a few different permission settings to have in this instance. If you're not the Admin, then you must have the Admin add the required permissions. In the Meta Business app (business.facebook.com) you'll want to make sure you're added (Full Control or whichever necessary) under the following sections
Accounts > Pages; Accounts>Commerce Accounts; Data Sources>Catalogs;
The error in this thread is specific to permission in the Data Sources>Catalogs section. Make sure you have permissions in all three if needed! If the Admin has trouble adding you, be sure to click "Assign People" or you may have to use the FB search function which is terrible. If you have to search by phone/email to add yourself, enter one character at a time and wait for the results to load, I assume it's pulling from a database of... "the whole world."
