Shipping multiple products from different locations/vendors but multiple shipping applied to cart

HI , I keep searching for some help on this ! In the UK customers are very price sensitive. If they add 2 or more items in their basket they don't care where these will ship from, and will only expect one shipping charge. By default shopify adds /stacks the shipping cost per item. We want to find a solution - Please can anyone recommend an app which allows us to avoid multiple/stacked shipping to the end customer but will allow us to send out multiple products from various different vendors/locations? We do also ship small/light products as well as bigger/heavier products so it would be great if we can retain various shipping profiles as well as  manage this from multiple locations. 

I have asked Shopify help but they tell me this cannot be changed or amended with coding. 

We run a shop which raises money for charity so can't afford expensive app subscriptions,  or high development costs. All advice gratefully received ! Thanks 

PS - loading the price of shipping into all products and offering free shipping throughout isn't practical as we also sell low price products, and this would make a £2.99 item cost £6.99 and would be uncompetitive.

Hey Summer - thank you ! I will investigate the suggestions. As we are a not for profit company I cannot afford a heavy monthly subscription for this functionality but some of the suggested apps are quite reasonable.
