Since the customer service seems like AI on both Shopify and Gelato, I take this blog as my last resort having the help of fellow store owners. 

I challenge a few things: 

- Gelato's flat rates for shipping do not seem to update in my Shopify. Anyone having this issue? 
- On top of that, Gelato charges for additional item shipping. However, how do I bulk / or automatically add this to my Shopify check out?

Hi,
Double-check your Gelato integration settings within Shopify to make sure they are correctly linked and configured to use flat rates.

No improvement unfortunately. I am going to switch to Printify to have a better integration.

Printify is bettter option. Sorry for the stress.

You're not alone in facing this issue! Gelato's shipping rates should sync with Shopify, but sometimes they don’t update properly due to caching or integration delays. Try these steps:

  1. Refresh the connection – Go to Shopify Admin > Settings > Shipping and Delivery > Manage Rates, then remove and re-add Gelato as a carrier-calculated rate.
  2. Manually adjust shipping – If Gelato isn’t passing updated rates, you may need to set up a custom shipping profile in Shopify to reflect their extra-item charges.
  3. Use Shopify scripts (Shopify Plus) or third-party apps – If you need bulk adjustments, consider apps like Advanced Shipping Rules to automate additional item fees.
