All things Shopify and commerce
Hi there... has shopify changed rates or anything? I had a customer order from us for a Labor Day sale for 11 items and it came to $23 (Florida to Canada)
Today she went to order 3 items (very small) that weighed less than 4 ounces and it came up to $33 to ship....
first class international shipping rates on both ways...
I just looked up the cost of an 8 ounce package to Canada from Shipping via google and on the USPS site, it claims that first class international should roughly start at $17 with it going up and the package weight up to 64 ounces.
Neither of these packages weighed more than 8 ounces - so what gives with Shopify pulling such a difference in the rates in just a few days time? Any advice? I am losing Canadian customers because the base price is now telling them its $33 regardless how little they are ordering.
Thanks for any
Hi @AnnieK23
There is might some discrepancies on your package size settings and shipping rate rule. Kindly double check the default package size on your settings and the shipping rate.
Yea unfortunately that is not the issue and checking everything - no matter what - its always the wrong rate being given. Its just odd that it changed within a few days right after the holiday. I understand rates change - but that is a "big" jump in the rates. I just had to go and refund shipping on those orders. The odd thing is.. if you are in admin and do a "calculate shipping charges" via admin and put in the zip and weight... if clearly gives you the correct shipping rate... (see screen shot) -- but if I were to test as a customer on the website... it gives a totally different rate ($23 now) for the same weight, service and package. Just odd its not matching.
I am having the same issue. Last week, the same exact box /weight was 5.65, now its 8.75!
