All things Shopify and commerce
Hi, in April my Shopify shop app products were getting an average of 800-1000 impressions a day, and within just a few days, with nothing changed to my store, it has gone down 99% to 3 impressions a day. Why would this be happening?
Hi @AlekD !
Have you tried reaching out to Shopify support team yet to have their further insights regarding this matter? If not yet, I highly advise you to do so, as they can further take a look into your account and check if there's any issue on your account that might be causing this huge impact to your analytics. They will be able to determine if there is a system issue or account issue. Also, if there is something needed to be improved on your account. You can reach out to them by going through their Shopify Help Center and enter your concern on AI chat box, respond to it until the "I still need help" or "chat with a support advisor" option appear.
Our website had a similar drop around that same time period. We went from 500 - 3500 impressions a day now down to maybe 3 - 4 dozen. Any ideas of what caused this?
Exact same time period and same result for me. Did you reach out to Shopify? I may contact them.
Spoke with them this morning, they suggested that I am just in a tough market and recommend I activate a marketing campaign haha - even though been in this sector for 2 years that has always been competitive, but impressions have been consistent. The answer from Shopify doesn't explain the complete drop off - yes of course if very competitive you would expect a slow drop but not overnight flatline.
For reference my chart more or less is same as yours, begins on 27th April and has been flatlined ever since.
Here is our drop off for the same time period. No explanation from Shopify.
We reported this same issue and got no assistance from online support. We told them that the same issue was being reported by other users and their response was 'Correct, it's a community blog with 4 other users that are experiencing a low trend on their sells during a period of 3 weeks approximately, unfortunately we can't take this as evidence to report that there's a malfunction on the site, if you're able to get more information, for example screenshots or videos that shows something that is not working we can go ahead and work on some troubleshooting"

It's a joke to be honest, there's clearly something wrong Shopify end. I get that impressions can drop off based on competition but to literally fall to an almost 0 flatline over night isn't right and has nothing to do with our stores/products, it would be more tapered. Also considering others are experiencing the same drop off, on the same dates.
Still no change for us and no response from Shopify (we've inquired twice now).
Exact same here. We had 10's of thousands per months and now we are ending May with less than 500.
yeah, it went from thousands a day to like 15 in 1 day, now its just flatlined at 0....
Hey,
any update on this? Facing the same issue aswell 😞
Still down 99% from the highs in January. They gave me a total BS answer and insta-closed the conversation so I feel like its intentional or just they have no interest in solving it
It's obviously a server-side issue. Since the drop happened for all of us at around the same time.
Considering creating a new Shop, just to see if this changes something...
1 week ago, even though I had thousands of products in my Shop app store, my daily impressions dropped from 3-4k to 0. Here is my screenshot and proof. The Shopify team says they will help with this issue, but they don't sound very promising and we get classic template answers. Looks like we'll have to give up hope on the Shop app. As far as I understand, no matter how well we do our job, they still choose people. I am of the opinion that there is discrimination.
Edit: The Shopify team has re-evaluated the situation and determined that the cause of the issue is the unlisting of a few hundred products from my Shop App store. The Shop App algorithm should take a few days to recover. I will monitor the return of my impressions over the next few days and provide detailed information if I encounter any positive or negative changes. I hope to return with good news soon. 😊
