Are there any Shopify apps that allow you to track inventory for components associated with products that you don’t sell? For instance, we sell greeting cards and need to track the inventory of envelopes that go with them, but we don’t sell the envelopes themselves. It's important that this tracking is only visible in the admin back-end and not to customers. When a greeting card is sold, the inventory for the connected envelopes should be automatically adjusted.
Hi @aiadev
You can try Easify Inventory Sync, which helps track inventory for components linked to your products without displaying them to customers. It ensures that when a greeting card is sold, the envelope stock updates automatically in the admin backend. No coding is needed, making it an easy solution for managing hidden inventory tracking. Here's how it works:
1. Create a Draft Product: Set up Envelope product for inventory tracking, this product will be a Draft and won’t be visible in the storefront.
2. Set Up Bundle Groups: Use the app to create a bundle group that connect your greeting card with your envelopes. Here’s how to set up a bundle group for your product:
3. How It Works:
I hope this answer helps solve the problem. If you need further assistance, feel free to reach out to Easify anytime! 🤗
Thanks for the info, ill install it and see what its like. Ill come back and let you know. Thanks again 🙂
Hi @aiadev, Material Manager is able to do this. It lets you input an inventory of raw materials not visible to the customer. You can then link those raw materials to your variants and specifying how much the variants requires.
In your example you would create a raw material for envelopes, then link each card variant to that envelop. When one of those cards is sold it will decrease the envelope inventory in the app.
You can also specify if you want the app to update the variant inventory. For example say you have 10 envelopes it would update all variants using that material to have an inventory of 10. If you are not worried about the envelopes going into negative inventory you can toggle this feature off.

Yes! What you’re looking for is bundle or component inventory tracking, where selling a product (like a greeting card) automatically adjusts stock for its associated components (like envelopes), without displaying them to customers.
Qoblex can handle this seamlessly. It lets you track components behind the scenes, so every time a greeting card is sold, the envelope stock updates automatically in the admin back-end—without showing up in your storefront. Plus, it syncs with Shopify to keep inventory accurate across all your sales channels.
