Shopify CSV Import Keeps Importing Inventory as 0

Newbie here so please be gentle! I am using the Shopify CSV upload template and all info is importing correctly except the inventory column - when the product comes into my store the inventory is 0 despite me putting in the actual numbers. I have tried formatting the column as a number and a general in excel and neither seems to work. Any ideas on where i'm going wrong?

If you are using the product import CSV then please note you need to use the inventory CSV import instead to update stock levels of imported products: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/products/inventory/inventory-csv

Do you have multiple inventory locations in your settings? The Variant Inventory Qty will be ignored unless you have only a single location there.

If you have multiple inventory locations, or just want to update the qty after they come in as 0, view the options under "How do I import my inventory quantities after my products are created?" here
