Shopify Discount - & Off and QTY not being honored

For our store we are using a discount code to give customers an extra 5% off 12 or more bottles of wine within a collection of pre-determined eligible wines.

Mix&Match discount code can be entered in the shopping cart and the additional discount is applied to the order if 12+ bt are in the cart...  this is working, sort of.  The Mix&Match code remains active and is applied to the current and future orders even if the number of units ordered is adjusted to less than 12 units from the cart.  The cart is not recognizing the fact that the qty has been adjusted to a less than minimum number of units.

Any thoughts?
