Shopify Email - Scheduled products link not working

Hi, I'm trying to send an email to all my customers to preview the bags from our next drop. All the products are scheduled. Before now, I was able to create an email which automatically redirect users to the "preview" version of the product page, so they can see all the pictures before the actual drop.

Now if I try to send an email, Shopify automatically use the "real" link: so the customer are experienced a 404 page since the product is not published yet.

 

What happened? How can I fix it? I'm using Dawn as template, if that helps.

Shopify automatically redirects email links to published products, causing 404 errors for your unpublished bags.

Fixes:

  1. Landing Page: Create a landing page with teasers and link to it in emails.
  2. Code Edit (For Developers): Modify product link code in the email template to include a "preview" parameter.

Additional Tips:

  • Clearly state "preview only" in emails.
  • Consider Klaviyo for more email customization
