Due to piss-poor Customer Service, I haven't been able to use my Shopify platform for over a year!!!! And now that my plan is coming to an end tomorrow (June 16, 2025), their website won't allow me to cancel my account. They say I have an outstanding balance because the scheming ba☆tards want to lock me in for another three years.

 

This is outright fraud.

Hey @SquirmDotCa,

If you don't use the Shopify from the last 1 years and now shopify ask for the due payment then the only solution is that you have to pay the current. Otherwise you cannot lock your account or somehow make your account blocked. Shopify clearly says that if you don't want to use their platform then lock the account immediately. As you didn't lock the account in the previous whole year then Shopify treat as a normal running store.

I haven't used this account in over a year, because I was locked out of my account. Their A.I. chat bot is of no use. And now that I'm up for renewal tomorrow, they won't allow me to cancel my subscription. 

 

Just so we're crystal clear here, I was paid in full & in good standing. My account is up for renewal, but I do not wish to renew my services with these frauds.

 

But their online system won't allow me to cancel.

If you still stick with the cancellation of the Shopify plan then the better advice is that leave the current as it and detached your payment methods that you use for the subscription and create a new account. l

But if you want to use the current one account then without paying them you cannot access it.

You're clearly having trouble comprehending what I'm saying. 

 

I do not wish to renew my services, but their website won't allow me to cancel.

 

I am not willing to incur another subscription charge. My previous charges were paid in full.
