All things Shopify and commerce
Hi,
Does anyone know when it will be possible to disable products at the variant level rather than the whole product level, by market?
Thanks!
Hello Bradpc,
Currently, you can only disable products at the product level in Shopify, and this affects all variants of that product. If you want to disable a specific variant of a product, you can hide it from your online store or remove it from your inventory. However, this will also affect all markets where the product is sold.
If you want to disable a product in a specific market, you can use the "Locations" feature in Shopify to control where your products are available. This allows you to limit the availability of products to specific markets, and you can disable products in markets where they are not available.
Hu @Surbhi_Dudhe thanks, I'm aware of how Shopify Markets works. Just to clarify, my enquiry is about when Shopify will enable stores to disable products by variant for a market. Right now you have to disable the whole product. I would think its a small change, im surprised the release didn't offer both.
Hey @bradpc ,
I am here only for support to solve issues, I am not shopify staff.
I can't help to add this feature on shopify but shopify staff can help with that.
It's possible that the ability to disable products by variant for a market is already in development or planned for a future release. However, the specific timing and details of such a feature are not publicly available.
Where you able to find a way to solve this? Our customer experience is on the floor beacause of this issue. Very surprised that Shopify cannot handle this.
