Shopify nameservers not updating

I have a domain managed and owned by Shopify, and I want to manage the DNS on cloudflare. So I added the cloudflare custom nameservers in the shopify domain settings, but the custom nameservers are not propogating. It is still showing the old nameservers.

Any ideas?

Steps to Resolve Custom Nameserver Issue:

  1. Verify in Shopify: Ensure the custom nameservers in Shopify domain settings match Cloudflare's nameservers and are saved correctly.
  2. Allow Propagation Time: Nameserver changes may take up to 48 hours to propagate globally.
  3. Check DNS Propagation: Use tools like What's My DNS or WHOIS to verify current nameservers.
  4. Cloudflare Configuration: Confirm the domain is correctly added in Cloudflare with all necessary DNS records.
  5. Restart the Update: Remove and re-add the custom nameservers in Shopify to push the update.
  6. Contact Shopify: Verify if Shopify supports custom nameservers for your domain and request manual verification if needed.
  7. Contact Cloudflare: If Shopify confirms the update, check with Cloudflare for any domain setup issues.

This should help you pinpoint and resolve the problem effectively!

This is what chatGPT told me as well. All of these have been checked, I feel like it is an issue on Shopify's end.

We have a similar problem where the domainname registered via Shopify is not actually used for a Shopify webshop. We changed the name servers to 4 AWS name servers but it never got propagated. We've waited for over a week now. The Shopify interface does not give any clue.. it has accepted the 4 name servers and there is not any message that there is something wrong. Only thing I could guess is that there is an email forward set up on the info@domainname address. But there is not any (error) message about that.
