All things Shopify and commerce
We successfully set up our store in Facebook Commerce Manager using the Shopify datafeed. Phew!
Bad News: All of our products are hidden due to the images. They meet all of FB's requirements and appear correctly (square) in the Details tab, just as in Shopify.
On the Media tab, FB has modified the size to 476x249. I didn't do that. I can't find it anywhere in Shopify. FB won't let me edit the product except in Shopify.
Please help!
I'm having the exact same issue and struggling to find a fix to the issue.
Alex at Shopify helped me find a way to contact Facebook. I got a call from Miguel at 11pm.
This appears to be a Facebook bug in receiving data via the Shopify API. There are 2 possibilities I'm seeing:
1) Wait. Do nothing. See if your products start to appear on IG and FB. (Assuming you just signed up.) I'm not sure the error matters for display.
2) Miguel gave me 2 ways to try (and I added 1)
a) Delete the photos and add them back.
b) Duplicate the product keeping all attributes.
c) Duplicate the product without the images and add them back.
Miguel said to reduce the image to 500x500. I don't think that matters. I made it 1080x1080 since that's what FB uses.
I found PNG worked better than JPEG. #ymmv
Apparently, the solution is to wait a week and see if the errors go away. 🙄
