Hi, @Jakekim

That is definitely stressful.

This does, however, sound like expected behaviour. Shopify bills every 30 days. Thus, because some months have a different amount of days, you might see two charges in one month. Take May for example, you may see a charge on May 1st, and May 31st, depending on the date in which your store was created.

If you were charged $40, your 3 month (3 billing cycle) trial has most likely ended, or you are using some paid apps. If you don't plan on continuing we recommend closing the store by heading to Settings > Billing > Close Store. Make sure to follow the prompts on screen to ensure you have successfully closed your account.

In the meantime, please reach out to our live team via chat to inquire about a refund. visit our Help Center and log in to your account to create a support request through live cha. Once you have logged in to your account, type your request in 'Ask about a topic', scroll down to 'Get Support', and then click 'Continue.'
