UPDATE - Turns out you can't get past the Support Bot unless you have a current, accessible account.  So, I created a new FREE ACCOUNT and got assistance in less than two minutes.

TIP - IF YOU'RE STUCK IN THE SUPPORT BOT CIRCLE OF HELL, create a new account and use that to ask for help. 👍👍

Help!  I can't get past the Support bot!

I  want to cancel a monthly billing but am embarrassed to say I don't know either the Shop Name or email.  I set it up with a ZenDrop promo a year ago and haven't used it.  I decided to abandon the whole project and cancelled ZenDrop and am trying to close my Shopify account.  The email in my notes doesn't work, I suspect that it is an Inactive Account.  (And yes, I tried all my random emails AND even said the shop owner was deceased in case that triggered something. 🤷‍♀️)

Without a shop name, the Support Bot just goes in circles and remains a VERY effective gatekeeper.

I have the banking transaction code which I suspect someone in billing could use to find my account - if I could just get to person!

Any suggestions?

I'm ready to use a random Shopify store name just to get to the next step!  Anyone want to share theirs?

Thank you, Janice T.

Hello @JaniceTylor

Without your shop name or a working email, the automated system isn’t going to help much. Here are a few suggestions that might get you past the support bot:

  1. Try Contacting Shopify Support on Social Media:
Sometimes reaching out on Twitter (@ShopifySupport) can bypass the automated responses. Briefly explain your situation and mention you have a banking transaction code to help locate your account.

  2. Use a Different Contact Method:
If you can, try calling Shopify’s support (if available in your region) rather than using the chat. That might help you get in touch with a real person faster.

  3. Provide Account Details:
When you do connect with a live agent, mention your ZenDrop promo details and your banking transaction code. Even if you don’t remember the shop name or email, these details might help them track down your account manually.

  4. Create a Temporary Shopify Account:
As a last resort, you might consider setting up a temporary Shopify account with a random store name just so you can use that to initiate a conversation and provide your existing billing transaction details. That could help get things escalated.

I know it’s a pain, but sometimes a bit of persistence and trying a few channels can finally break through the support bot loop. Hope one of these ideas works for you!
