All things Shopify and commerce
Hello! I am new to shopify and my store hasn't been open too long. It seems that people are searching my shop for "handles" followed by my products name. Is this the nature of the search bar to add the word "handles"? I also wonder if someone is searching for who manages my products, which is me. Just wondering if anyone has seen this before and can tell me what it means. Thank you!
Hello! Thank you for your reply. My question is more so directed at the use of the word "handles" in the search title.
I have the same question. In particular, I noticed that it's "handles" followed by several of our products separated by a space. I attached a screenshotted example below. I want to understand what this means because there's so many searches for it.
As of 2023 I also started having this same issue.
I'd love to know if anybody has an answer to this as I'm having the same issue.
Same issue here and have seen it for quite a while. My first thought was it was some type of bot scanning the site. Couple of questions to those that also have the issue to see if we can find some common variables.
1. Do you have your products synced with Google?
2. Do you have your products synced with Facebook?
3. Are you running paid ads with either of the two above with dynamic or smarts ads?
No products synced to google, yes to Facebook. I am not running any ads. Maybe Facebook is running checks to ensure searches hold up?
That's what I'm thinking as handles could be a variable in their programming that is missing a bracket or something. I'm curious to see if others here that have said they have the same problem are synced with Facebook. I'm all of those, so we can safely say that Google and paid ads are taken out of the running.
We just started having the same issue. No idea what has changed.
We are getting the same in our store!! One of the searches was done over 4k times. With afterpay on the end of our handles query too. We have Facebook and Google synched to our store. I'm starting to think it's some type of bot thing happening. Would love to get to the bottom of it though.
