Spotlight Theme filtering products to show newly uploaded product first

Hello,

I am using the spotlight theme and need help.

I have a new arrivals page. I want it so when someone goes onto the page the products they see first are the newest products I have uploaded. At the moment there is a small filtering bar where they can filter by "new to old", "alphabetically" etc.

However is it possible to not have the filter bar and just have the newest products automatically come up when they click on the "new arrivals" page. Can this be done via code, or is there an even easier method which I am not seeing.

Thank you in advance for any help!

Hi, @jakeinker. I'm happy to help you out with this! Can you tell me more about your new arrivals page? Is this a collection page or have you created this a different way?

If this is a collection you can manage the sort order of the products within your Shopify admin by going to Products > Collections and then selecting the collection you want to edit. From there, you will find the Sort setting under the Products section of the page. You can also find the steps to change the sort order of products in a collection here.

The filtering options on your storefront are there so your customers can browse through products more effectively for what they are looking for. If you still want to remove this option, you can do so from within your theme editor. To get to the setting go to Online store > Themes and click Customize next to the theme you want to edit. From there, select the Default Collection template and click the Product grid section to open its settings. You will find the Enable filtering option there under the Filtering and sorting area. This guide can help explain more about managing storefront filtering.
