Is the Basic Shopify plan $29/month or $42/month?

A friend mentioned that her Basic subscription costs $348 annually ($29/month). However, when I checked the current subscription options, the Basic plan is listed as $42/month.

Does anyone know why there's a discrepancy?

The price varies by country; in my country, Vietnam, it is USD 25/month.
