Subdomain with "www" in front AND no "www" in front of subdomain

Hey Shopify users,

I have a subdomain all set up at GoDaddy pointing to myshopify.com properly. But, when someone adds "www" to the subdomain (e.g. www.shop.domain.com), we get a 404. I know it's odd, but some folks insist on adding www. 

I've been on for a long time w Godaddy who insists that it can't be done. Which I know that is not true for other subdomain sites (not shopify stores). They tell me I have to have "shopify add it to their database". I can't seem to get that done.

Anybody have any ideas on a workaround either via my store settings or via Godaddy?
