The compare price is not displayed in the Liquid templates when using the shopping cart drawer

To encourage sales, we're leveraging the compare price and the current price, but currently, the shopping cart drawer only displays the current price. We want customers to see how much they are saving when they add items to the cart. However, our developer mentioned that the compare price information isn't available in the Liquid templates.
