Re: The definition of GA4 event "item_view"

The definition of GA4 event "item_view"

Hi, Shopify community.

I have migrated to Google Analytics 4 with reference to the help page and confirmed that the measurement is working.

However I found that the "item_view" events value is different from "page_view" events value.

There is fewer "item_view" events  than "page_view" events even though same product.

(I've checked it by filtering page path with product's handle)

Is there someone who have same experience? and is it error or not?

I would like to know the definition of "item_view"(How is "item_view" event tracked)

Thanks for the help in advance.

Hi, did you ever get any help with this? We support GA4 transition and may be able to help solve this. How is the rest of your migration going so far?

Hi, thank you for your replying. I've struggled with this problem yet. It is no matter of connection with google analytics 4 however as I mentioned, the tracking of "items_viewed" events (I think it is prebuilt event) is differ from "page_view" event.
It is fewer than "page_view" event even though the product is same.

This is last 7 days "page_views" of product pages
