Hi everyone,
I’ve been facing this issue for the past five days, and it’s preventing me from editing my shop. It’s really frustrating!
The error message says:
"This page is not compatible with the editor due to one of the following issues:
The page is redirecting to an unsupported URL.
The page failed to load due to an error."
I’ve searched for solutions here and on YouTube, but nothing has worked so far. Could someone please help me with this? I’d really appreciate it!
Hi CheneB,
This error usually means the Shopify editor can't load the page properly because of a redirect or code issue. It can happen if the page you're trying to edit:
Redirects to another URL (like from HTTP to HTTPS, or to a different domain).
Includes code that blocks the editor from loading — like custom apps, scripts, or a theme error.
Here’s how to fix it:
First, try opening Online Store > Pages, and click “View” on the page that’s causing trouble. See if it loads normally outside the editor.
If it redirects, check your theme.liquid or any app settings for code that might force a redirect.
Next, go to Online Store > Themes > Actions > Edit Code, and check for recent changes. Undo anything added in the past few days that might be breaking the editor.
You can also try previewing the page in a different theme to isolate if the issue is theme-specific.
If you're stuck, duplicate your theme (for safety), then remove custom code bit by bit to find the cause.
Regards,
Mustak
Hi @CheneB
May I know the page you redirected refers to the internal URL on your store or not? If it is from an external page, that page may not be able to work on Shopify platform properly. Please double-check.
Also, you can share the issue related URL here, and I can check it for you by the way. Thank you!
