It sounds like there might be a problem with your network connection or with the Shopify website itself. I would recommend trying the following steps to troubleshoot the issue:

  1. Restart your computer and try accessing the Shopify admin again.

  2. Check to make sure that your internet connection is working properly. You can do this by visiting a different website or by running a network diagnostic on your computer.

  3. If the issue persists, try accessing the Shopify admin using a different network, such as a cellular network or a different Wi-Fi network.

  4. If you are still unable to access the Shopify admin, it is possible that there is an issue with the Shopify website itself. In this case, you can try contacting Shopify support for assistance.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi, @vantuan88291.

Welcome to the Shopify Community and thanks for sharing your question.

I've checked on Shopify's end using our Shopify Store Status page and was unable to locate any indication of the error message you're receiving.

As @SocialAutoPost has mentioned, an ERR_CONNECTION_RESET may indicate that something happened that interrupted your connection to the webpage. I'd like to suggest additional troubleshooting methods to ensure you're able to regain access to your Shopify admin. I'll share them below.

Troubleshooting Steps:

  • When accessing your Shopify admin, are there a lot of windows, tabs and applications open? Your device may have run out of memory, and can't load the site while also running your apps and extensions. Try closing any extra windows, tabs and applications that you don't need, and pause any app or file downloads. After this, try reloading the page with the error.
  • Try upgrading your browser.
  • You can check out our list of supported browsers to try using a different browser.
  • Try launching your Shopify admin on a different device or using the Shopify Mobile app.

Let us know if the above troubleshooting steps have worked for you.

I look forward to hearing back.

Thanks for your reply, @vantuan88291.

Could you try the following troubleshooting steps to help rule out internet connection issues:

  • Try another internet connection (for example, switch to a cellular network on a phone rather than wifi). This eliminates a weak internet connection or ISP issue providing errors.
  • Contact your internet service provider directly.
  • Ensure there are no pop-ups being blocked in the web browser. This eliminates any missed popups, such as a new tab required to be opened for functionality.
  • Select "allow popups" from the device/browser. Google the browser/device to find catered solutions.
  • Ensure you do not have any firewalls, VPNs (virtual private networks) enabled on your device or network blocking Shopify. This eliminates firewalls or VPNs from providing errors
  • Ensure Shopify is not blocked, use another location for the VPN, and turn off VPN.

Lastly, if you've exhausted all of the above steps and are unable to access your admin, please contact our support through the Shopify Help Center.

I'm also experiencing the same issue, and it's very frustrating.

I used to be able to log in to "admin.shopify.com" using Chrome, but after a while, "admin.shopify.com",my custom domain store, and www.shopifystatus.com all started showing ERR_CONNECTION_RESET. Clearing cookies and using incognito mode didn't help.

However, I can access the above websites normally using Safari or the curl command line on the same computer at the same time, which proves that it's not a network problem on my end.

Based on this information, it seems like Shopify's firewall might be mistakenly blocking my connection requests?

Hey @BenjaminChen.

Thanks for reaching out on this thread.

I appreciate that you have included that screenshot as that is very helpful. If you use Google Chrome to navigate to Shopify's site here and select the Login from the top right, are you able to successfully login and view the admin dashboard?

If the issue persists, could you let us know if you are able to successfully login to your Shopify store when you use a separate browser, by any chance? For example, if you are receiving this error message - I would suggest trying this action on Safari or Microsoft Edge

Let us know if that does the trick.

Thanks for the reply @Ollie !

Still cannot access the link you provided through Google Chrome, but can access the link through Safari at the meantime.
