Tiered Pricing on a small collection of products

Hello, I'm wanting to place tiered pricing on just a very small number of products in my new Shopify webpage - maybe 6-8 products in one collection only. I want to place a minimum of say 20 when the customer goes to purchase (they would not be able to order anything less). There would be a price per number from say 20-29, then a new price on 30-39, then maybe 2 more tiers only such as 40-99 and then over 100.  I'm wondering the simplest and most cost effective way to do this. I'm finding that the Apps are very expensive or they say they can't do one specific aspect. I don't want to set up as a wholesale shop because this format is just going to be applicable for one small collection.  Is the only other option back end coding, and would this be very expensive?

This is an accepted solution.

The discount should encourage minimum quantity purchases naturally, if not the discount doesn't seem to be a great purchase incentive.

And may indicate the alternative need to sell a prepackaged product(bundle) at the desired price point and qty;  then do inventory syncing on the backend between the bundle and the component product.

Enforcing order minimums , for regular shopify plans, is completely separate issue for the online-sales channel. Requiring possibly an advanced customization across multiple theme files and depending on theme. And if business requirements need it backend order validation which is another complication. Enterprise Plus stores can use the wholesale channel minimum orders and price lists for volume pricing.

It's a common topic though and there is example code out there but each case and theme and apps can be very different.

Contact me directly if you just need the customization done for you to be able to turn on minimum quantites on the frontend product and cart pages. Contact Info in signature please provide context if doing so: store url, storefront password if applicable , theme, post url and or further detail.

Good hunting.

Is there a reason you cannot use the discount type amount off products?

Try multiple to get the different tiers, and or by setting to be combinable.

The alternative is to make a new product at a fixed price that represents that said quantity& discount as a single product-quantity then on the backend sync product inventory to the original product , and if necessary edit the order to add the original product and the actual quantity.

Thanks Paul, I admit I hadn't thought of discounts...I'm still fairly new to all this. But how would I achieve the goal of setting 20 as the minimum order?

You can create a tiered discount based on quantity within a collection using Simple Discounts and the tiered discount feature. You'd just have to enter in the quantity range for each price and then select the collection. Super simple. Let me know if I can help out with the setup.
