All things Shopify and commerce
Products used to sync fine and I have not changed anything on my end. Since January products are syncing but only available in tiktok marketing, not showing in tiktok shop. I have gone down the rabbit hole. Tiktok says it's a Shopify thing, and shopify doesn't usually know what i'm talking about. I usually figure it out myself, or they give me incorrect information, so here we are...
Things I have checked/learned
1. Tiktok box is checked in the publishing to sales channel section on product description page.
2. only new products as of 2024 are having issues
3. on the tiktok sales app, it is showing my new products are not being mapped, and I need to map them. (maybe this is why they aren' t showing?)
4. there is a link to manually fix mapping issues with products in the tiktok sales app but these products are not showing there
5. Shopify explains how to map a product by clicking the appropriate sales channel you would like to sync your product to (head back to 1)
It sounds like an app glitch or shopify glitch that needs to be re-coded. Anyone else having this issue?
YES literally the same issue! It’s like reading my own complaint it’s been so frustrating and to top it off the items are mapped so it’s even more frustrating. I’ve been at it again trying to figure it out the last 4 hours so if I make any progress and find the solution I’ll let you know.
Ok, so at least I know now that I'm not the only one. I have literally 15-20 tickets created with tiktok and they have no clue, even with screen shots and a walk through video, they give me some repetitive instructions of how to map a product and close the ticket. Shopify never knows what's wrong, I don't even contact them anymore. It has to be a software glitch, there is literally no other explanation. I even tried deleting and reinstalling the tiktok app, and I managed to get 1 new product to show, then it went back to how it was.
This is happening to me!! Any updates?? I have done everything the same and then yes, in 2024, my products stopped syncing.
I found I had to do inventory untracked, and then update inventory in TikTok Seller Center on the mobile app. But now, my products in TikTok Shop show up with tracking inventory. I didn't change it, but it has changed in 2024. I changed a new product to tracking inventory, and it still won't sync.
I show that my new products are not Mapped as well, but it does not give me an option to Map them. That's the most frustrating, how do I map the new products, then?
Hey, @fridayapparel
The TikTok channel is supported directly by their development team. You can reach out to their support via email here.
If there is anything else I can help you with, please let me know.

Except for the fact that they have no idea how to fix the issue. I've sent them a video step by step with all the issues circled in red with text explanation of every issue put right by the red circles and they sent me some scripted notes about how to map a product, as if there was no troubleshooting issue, basically ignoring the entire video and giving me the general instructions that are clearly already all over the internet. Complete waste of time.
It looks like maybe the products that are showing needing to be mapped but are already linked are duplicates. I checked on my end and yes, the products were showing twice in tiktok shop, so I deleted them and they are still showing as needing to be mapped. I've also tried completely deleting the tiktok app and re adding it to no success, and then there's the 20 something tickets I've sent to tiktok that they keep closing without a solution. 😤
Same thing is still happening to me and I can't figure out how to map certain products because they are not showing up under Mapping Issues too.
I read somewhere that is is doing this because you have duplicates of that product uploaded on tiktok shop. When I checked it was indeed correct. All the products that were stating they needed to be mapped but were not allowing me to map them because they were already linked were duplicates. So I went into tiktok shop and deleted the duplicates, but now its still showing as needing to map deleted products, makes absolute 0 sense.
Did you ever solve this?? I realized months ago that I couldn't do custom items on TikTok Shop so I went into Shopify and unchecked TTS from the channels. It will not sync so I keep getting orders for custom items that have no info and the buyers never respond to see what they'd like. I'm just up in arms. Neither support can help me, Shopify or TikTok Seller Center support.
I deleted my shop, along with the app and re-installed everything. I had to go through business/identity verification again but that was all. Everything else was saved. Everything seems to be fine now, but it's only been a few days so...we will see. I did notice there was no bulk auto sync between shopify and tiktok when I re-installed everything, so I can now sync each product I would like to show in tiktok shop manually and it IS allowing me to map them now.
QUICK REPLY!! THANK YOU!! I may have to wait for this order to fail or process and then I can try that.
So did you"DELETE" your shop or "CLOSE" your account? Closing deletes everything which I'm okay to start over but then I have to announce that I'm closing and then wait 30-90 days. It doesn't sound like that's what you did.
I requested to close the shop and deleted the app on shopify, but when I went to re-open (it's been about 2 months), it still said closure in progress, so I don't know if you need to attempt to close it or not, but def delete the shopify app for tiktok and re-install that.
Updated issues: July 2024
Deleted TikTok shop, unlinked shop from business center, re installed everything,(headache) and still having issues. New products did sync that were missing from before, but new products from after re-linking accounts do not show. New products that went live on Shopify store after re-linking are not even showing under Shopify products in the TikTok app, therefore I am unable to map or sync to TikTok shop, it’s as though these products don’t exist, even though they are active on Shopify store. (I know to check the tiktok box under sales channels on each product.)
I’m also getting a “something went wrong” message every time I open the app. Sent a screenshot to TikTok support and just getting the run around by them. Either they give me a different department to contact or I get a generic bot response.
has anyone downloaded this app and it’s working 100% for them???? Please respond, I’m just curious. I hear the 3rd party apps are glitchy too. Most likely just going to manually upload products and sell separately from both platforms. I’d rather double my workload and have things running without glitches than have to deal one more day trying to get an acceptable response from TikTok.
Third-party platforms can easily solve the problem of batch synchronization of products, whether they are new or old products. What's more, they will have customer service to follow up with you in time to help you solve the problem without having to wait for a long time for the official response from TikTok Shop. I am using Datech ShopSync. If you want, you can have a try.
Yes, and if your orders are more than 20 orders/month and goes beyond Datech ShopSync free plan, you can try eBooster for TikTok Shop. You get 50 orders every month for free. Better for me.
I am starting out. Just synced all my Shopify products to tik tok store, success. They have been synced for a week. Today my heart dropped a beat when I saw that half of my products are unsynced. I used Ownbase app from shopify store to sync the products. Don't understand how and why this happened and how can it be prevented in future. This is not good for business. Any inputs are appreciated as I am lost here. Thanks
Tiktok makes money from ads. So their app is not made for syncing our products. You may still need to use third-party apps for sync work in the future. Ownbase only offers free trial and you still need to pay after the trial. I suggest you to use apps with free plan at the beginning, like eBooster for TikTok Shop. I've used it for almost a year and it's a relief. They also made customized functions for my business needs which I appreciate a lot. It's recommened to try some before you decide to pay for a sync app.
