I can’t deactivate my account because it says that to close your store all outstanding invoices must be paid and I haven’t even get sales? Please can you help me I just want to be out of this mess please???
Hi @HawkStore,
Yes, this is correct. If you have outstanding charges due, Shopify does request payment before the store can be manually closed. You can view a breakdown of your invoices by heading to Settings > Billing in your Shopify admin.
If you're having difficulty understanding the charges and would like some assistance, please contact our support team so we can authenticate you on the account and take a look at this for you.

Can you guys please just do something I don’t want to be part of this no more just please!
Hi @HawkStore,
We'd be happy to take a look at this for you and see what we can do for you here. Please bear in mind that I cannot close your store or issue any refunds for you as I cannot authenticate you via the Community, so you'll need to reach out to our team via the Help Center. Please let me know if you're unable to reach out and let me know what issues you're having.
Can you tell me if you can still log in, or does the store appear to be frozen? This will occur if an invoice goes unpaid and we cannot charge the card on file.

I'm having the same problem I payed my $1 a month for three months and wasn't happy with what shopify has to offer and now I would like to deactivate my account. but I cant do that without paying the new $60 outstanding bill. why do I have to pay this bill if I want to deactivate. this bill covers my subscription for the rest of this month why do I have to pay it if I'm not using the services
Hi @user07858,
If you are unable to close your store due to an owed balance this is likely because you have outstanding charges that need to be paid. These could be subscription fees for apps you have installed or transaction fees for orders processed via your store, among other things. If you are unsure on what these charges are and require assistance, please contact our support team directly.

Yes, You're absolutely right when they said that you can cancel the subscription at any time then why this happend? This is not so good! I'm also facing the same issue.
Hi @hunainprince677,
Merchants are free to close their store at anytime but are asked to pay any outstanding invoices due for the account if there are any. If you are not sure what this invoice is for, you can head to your Billing settings and view your latest invoice; all charges will be listed here. The store will be automatically frozen if the invoice is not paid and we are unable to charge you after three attempts. Access will then be lost until the invoice is paid.

3 attempts? One of your staff said that it requires 8 attempts. Who's right? How long does it take to Shopify to try to devour the money 3 times?
did u find any solution
Hi, I need help closing my store which had no result... I had the Loox application and got the trial, knowing that when it was finished I would have to pay 34.99, the problem is that I closed the store or left it I had to work on it before the trial ended and these days I remembered to close the store but I received an invoice for 34.99 to pay... What can I do?
Hi @Someonethere123,
This likely occurred because the billing period for the app was initiated before you attempted to close the store, and thus a payment was due. These billing cycles for apps are independent of the billing cycle for your Shopify subscription even if you pay for them at the same time. The dates should be outlined in your Shopify invoice.
If you need assistance closing the store, please contact our support team directly and they can inform you of your options after looking at your account.
