Please Help – Customers Unable to Log In
Hi,
In the past week, two of our customers have encountered the following error when trying to log in:
"To sign in with this email, continue without Shop." And then it shows Request ID, Client_id and State
We had a similar case about two weeks ago and initially thought it was a random issue, but now it seems like something more consistent may be happening.
Our customers need to log in using their email and the 6-digit code (we use the new customer account system). Of course, we advised them to follow all the standard troubleshooting steps—clearing cookies and cache, trying incognito mode, switching devices or browsers, updating their browser, etc.—but they still receive the same error.
In one case, I had the customer switch to a different email, and it worked, which leads me to believe this may be related to an existing Shop account connected to the email address.
I'm attaching a screenshot of the error message for reference.
Any insight or help would be greatly appreciated!

This comes up when the customer's email is associated with an account in Shop and they're attempting to use the new account login flow. A workaround is to instruct them to click "Continue without Shop", and then to paste the code. You may also temporarily enable classic accounts to work around this conflict.

This comes up when the customer's email is associated with an account in Shop and they're attempting to use the new account login flow. A workaround is to instruct them to click "Continue without Shop", and then to paste the code. You may also temporarily enable classic accounts to work around this conflict.

I had to enable Classic Accounts and then enable New Accounts again to be able to "fix" the error. There was no way for my customer to log in, even after deleting cookies, changing browsers, etc. Thank you for the input, though — now we know!
