Hi everyone,
I’m hoping someone here has dealt with a similar issue and found a solid solution.

We’ve been running into a growing problem where customers enter incorrect or incomplete shipping addresses during checkout. Over time, this has led to a noticeable increase in failed deliveries and support tickets.

Some examples of what we’re dealing with:

  • Orders that get returned to sender because the address doesn’t exist or is missing key details

  • Packages that end up at the wrong location due to simple typos

  • Customers reaching out frustrated that their order never showed up

  • Support time spent tracking and reshipping orders

  • Additional shipping fees that come straight out of our pocket

  • Negative reviews tied to delivery issues that weren’t technically our fault

It’s starting to impact both our margins and our reputation. Especially during high-volume periods, even a small number of address errors create a ripple effect across our support and fulfillment teams.

So far, we’ve tried manually reviewing addresses, but that doesn’t scale. We also experimented with sending follow-up emails asking customers to confirm their address after placing the order, but the response rate is low and many customers don’t see the message in time. By the time we hear back, the order has often already shipped.

We’re now at a point where we really need a way to reduce this problem at the source. Ideally, we’d like something that works during checkout, flags obvious issues, and gives customers a chance to fix them before submitting the order.

If anyone has dealt with this and found a reliable way to prevent bad addresses before they get into the system, I’d really appreciate hearing how you solved it. Apps, processes, custom code, anything that worked for you.

Thanks in advance.

Thank you so much, seriously, you might have just saved my life 😅 I’ve been dealing with the exact same nightmare of failed deliveries, frustrated customers, and endless support tickets. I had no idea a tool like Address Validation iO existed that could catch issues before the order even goes through.

I just checked it out and I’m honestly impressed. The real-time validation, catching missing apartment numbers, fixing typos during checkout, this is exactly what we’ve been needing. Manual reviews and follow-up emails never worked well for us.

Really appreciate you sharing this openly without trying to push anything. That already says a lot about the tool. Thanks again, this was a huge help 🙏
