Hi I've got a candle business thats been on shopify for a couple of years and since the start of the year the traffic in the UK has gone completely. I'm getting american and asian countries but none from UK and I only sell here. I'm not sure what has happened, I know my website isnt perfect and im working on my SEO. Is there anything anyone can suggest for the sudden change.

It's concerning that your UK traffic has dropped suddenly despite your business being based there. It's possible that there could be technical issues affecting your website's visibility to UK users, or there may have been changes in search engine algorithms impacting your SEO. I'd recommend closely monitoring your website's performance, checking for any technical issues, and continuing to improve your SEO efforts. Additionally, reaching out to Shopify support or seeking assistance from an SEO expert could provide valuable insights and solutions.

Thank you for your response,

This is what I was thinking but Im not sure how to tackle it. I have been monitoring it since the start of the year and thought up dating my SEO would work. Ive looked at my settings and they all say UK. Do you think shopify could help? I dont play around with the technical side of things so as far as I know nothing has changed there. Very confused.

  • Hi helen, have you checked ur site on somewhere like seo optimiser to check any home page issues & speed loading. You can check speed load in shopify online store - themes & the banners that show speed etc.
  • also do you have a cookie banner?
  • check all ur settings are set to a UK Primary market . All these annoying updates , i say annoying as we are expected to be masters of this game , when its not always clear whats changed.. your theme may have lost any changes in the last updates so go though every section in theme settings & store settings page check & double check .
