Transfer domain away from Shopify when shop is inactive

I deactivated both my shops on Shopify. How can I retrieve the authorization code to transfer a domain back to Godaddy when I can no longer access my account?

This is Lana from Shopify.

This is something that we can help you out with! Since you have already closed your account, if you do not wish to reopen them to do this, we can look into giving you temporary access so that you can initiate the domain transfer process.
For this process, you will need to contact our support here so we can see if its possible to grant you this time. The reason that you have to go through that link is because we are currently unable to look into your account details via the Shopify Community.

Hello Lana,

Thank you for your email.

I tried pressing on "contact our support here" however because both my
accounts are inactive, I cannot contact support as it needs me to select an
active account. Both my accounts are inactive at this point, that's why I
reached out to Shopify community because I couldn't email customer service.
How can I proceed from here?

It does sound like you might have to go with the email option to get this resolved as quickly as possible. Could you please tell me a little more about why you were previously unsuccessful when trying to reach out via email? I appreciate your patience on this while I was out of office. Did you manage to get access to the support in the end? I understand your issue is with logging in since you have closed the store, but there is also an option to Continue without logging in:

From there you should be able to type your question/keyword related to your issue and see support options at the bottom.

Hello Lana,

I tried without logging in, however when I type keywords/questions related
to my issue "transferring domain away from shopify when the store is
inactive" it only gives me a solution to transfer my domain away from
shopify when my store is active.

What are my options to transfer my domain out of shopify? Please let me
know.

I see what you mean! For your particular issue, could you instead try to type the keyword 'Domain' on its own? That way you might be able to find other support/contact options at the bottom of that page!
