Hi. I would like to transfer my domain; www.nimonatural.com from my current frozen account to another host. How do I go about it?

Hi, @naomimuhia250,

Hank here from Shopify. 

Depending on the current state of the store, it may be possible to release the domain for transfer. However, only if the store is at zero balance, AKA, no money owed that led to the freezing of the store.

If any money is owed on the store, this would need to be settled as the admin would need to be activated to release the domain and the domain cannot be transferred out within 60 days of purchasing it.

Now as this is account specific, I will just need to verify your account. I will send you an email to the email address attached to this forum's account and confirm some security questions about your store.

Once you reply to that email, I will look into this further for you.

Similarly to the above, it depends on a number of factors such as the status of your store, if there is a debt owed on the store and the age of the domain.

Hi, I have debt on my shopify account but wanting to transfer my domain is their anyway you could help, I've already received my authentication code for the website but it's still saying it is still locked and the registrar is owned by tucows, inc. Can anyone help me with please?

That sounds correct, that even though you have the authentication code, it would remain locked if there is any debt owed on the account.

The only way around this is to pay the outstanding balance (the money owed), and this should release the restriction on the domain for you to transfer it.

In situations where you wish to remove a domain or transfer a domain from a store that is no longer active, you would just need to reach out via our Help Centre here for account support.

 

There we'll be able to verify your identity and ownership of the domain and clarify how you can proceed with this request.

 

If your store had been frozen for non-payment, you would likely need to clear any outstanding balance liable on your account.
