Hi! I am a student and I was creating a draft website for my client as a part of the project. Now, I would like to send to the client either the entire website or somehow duplicate it in a file that later the client would open and import everything to his account.
I saw there is a method to give the rights of the shop to another account. It might not be an option for me as the client does not have an account yet. Besides, I saw that he may get access to my credit card information which I want to avoid.
All I did for the website was just the customization of one of the stock themes that Shopify provides. Changed some colors, created a couple of pages, built a structure for the categories, and added some sample products. So that's all I need to send to the client.
Could you give me a tip on how to do that? For your information, I have no need in this website and will need to close the account as soon as possible.
Thanks for reaching out in our Community Forums and for sharing your concern, I’d be happy to help.
I understand your need to transfer the website to your client without sharing your credit card or other personal information. One option is to transfer ownership of the store to your client through the Partner Dashboard once your work is complete. We have a guide on this here.
Alternatively, you can download the theme file and import it to the client's new store. Please note that theme downloads do not include images, so you will need to re-add them separately. You can also import products and other elements via CSV file as needed. If you client needs further assistance, you can request that they add you as a staff member so that you can help them with the import process.
Hope this helps!
