Trying to setup loyalty discounts for customers imported from the old website

I've imported customers from my old website, populating total $ spend and total # of orders fields, also putting their earned loyalty discount percent into the tag field.

Unfortunately I can't see total $ spend nor total # of orders; also trying to use customer filters on these fields don't work.

OK then, is it possible to provide percent discount to logged in customers equal to their tag value? I.e. if their tag value has 5 in it, then any item they add to cart should receive 5% off.

I've looked at several discount apps out there and did not immediately find such a solution.
