All things Shopify and commerce
Hi, I started the Google SEO a few days ago. I'm not expecting to appear on the first page of search results yet but when should I expect 'site:boops.co.uk' to work?
Thanks
Google usually takes some time to index a new website, which can range from a few days to a few weeks. Using 'site: .co.uk' to check if your site is indexed should work once Google has crawled and indexed your pages. If your site doesn't appear after a week or two, you might want to manually submit your site to Google Search Console to speed up the process. Keep in mind that various factors, such as the site's content quality, structure, and links, can influence how quickly it gets indexed.
To speed up the Google indexing process, you can follow these steps:
Add Your Site to Google Search Console: Add your site to Google Search Console and verify your ownership. This helps Google crawl your site faster.
Submit a Sitemap: Create an XML sitemap of your site and submit it via Google Search Console. This helps Google discover your pages more quickly.
Use the URL Inspection Tool: In Google Search Console, use the URL Inspection tool to request manual indexing of specific pages. This is especially useful for important pages.
Share on Social Media: Sharing your site’s content on social media platforms can help Google notice and crawl your site faster.
Acquire High-Quality Backlinks: Getting backlinks from reputable and relevant websites can encourage Google to crawl your site more quickly.
Improve Website Speed: Ensuring your website loads quickly can help Google bots crawl your site more efficiently. Therefore, make optimizations to improve page speed.
Regular Content Updates: Regularly adding new content and updating existing content can lead to more frequent visits from Google.
Each of these steps can help your site get indexed by Google more quickly. If you’d like, I can assist you further with this process.
Hi @Boops,
I checked your website https://boopbeauty.co.uk/ and it redirects me to https://boopbeauty.co.uk/password.
Normally Google will index the destination URL, however it won't index the URL(https://boopbeauty.co.uk/password) because there is no index tag in the meta robots tag.
I dig deeper and check your site in Rich Results and it shows that it's eligible for crawling and indexing.
What you need to do after launching the site?
I noticed that your site is scheduled to launch on Sept 12, 2024. After launching your Shopify store, you should take the following steps to ensure it appears in search results:
Add Your Store to Google Search Console: This is crucial for insights into your store’s performance in search. It helps Google know your site exists and allows you to monitor how your site is doing technically and in terms of visibility.
Improve SEO: Use tools like Yoast SEO for Shopify to optimize your content and make your products eligible for rich results in Google. This includes filling in site representation settings, adding social media profiles, and setting site defaults.
Get Links to Your Site: Encourage other sites to link to yours. Google crawls the internet by following links, so having other sites link to yours can help Google discover your content.
Submit Your Sitemap: Ensure that your sitemap is submitted to Google Search Console, which helps Google understand the structure of your site and index it properly.
Optimize User Experience (UX): Improve the UX of your store to increase conversions and attract more customers.

How long does it take to index the site?
Please know it can take some time before Google can report on the crawled URLs after you submit your sitemap, especially for large sites. Google Search Console reports are not real-time.
In order to get your site indexed, you first need it to be crawled. How long it takes for your website to be fully crawled depends on your crawl budget – the attention your site gets from Google.
After it’s fully crawled, you enter the next phase – indexing. There, the following factors have a major impact on indexing speed:
As a rule of thumb, you can usually estimate:
Of course, every website is unique and is handled differently by Google, so take these estimates with a grain of salt. At the end of the day, Google has the final say in all things SEO.
I’m excited to let you know that the Yoast SEO App is now available on Shopify! This app can help you optimize your store’s SEO, improve its visibility and Rich Resuls. You can take advantage of a 14-day free trial to explore its features and see how it works for your store.
Hi, thats not my website 🙂
Hi,
I also searched site:https://boops.co.uk/ on the website, and indeed no pages indexed by Google appeared. This may be because your website has just been built, or because it is a small website, Google may not have found your website.
So I suggest that you register for Google Search Console immediately, and then submit your website's sitemap there, so that Google will find your web pages faster and then index them.
But I suggest that you improve the SEO information of your website before your website is indexed by Google. This will help your Google ranking。 I found that your website does not have a meta description code, and this corresponding function refers to this.
Of course, even if there is no meta description code, Google can help you generate meta description text, but attractive meta descriptions are an important way to increase clicks.
You can install SEOAnt ‑ AI SEO Optimizer Shopify app.
This app has a free version. SEOAnt ‑ AI SEO Optimizer Shopify app customer service can help you generate this meta description code on your website, and can also assist you in registering a Google Search Console account.
Considering that after you install it, if you want to subscribe, you can enter the code "SEOAntCommunity50%OFF" on the price page, and all plans will be discounted by 50%, which is valid for a long time.
