unable to receive gmail related to shopify account

  • my admin created a gmail for my shopify account but it no longer works. It says address not found or unable to receive mail when someone sends an inquiry.  It seems the gmail is "inactive" as there is a circle with a squiggle near the gmail address.  Nothing comes through that gmail account.

is this a shopify issue or an issue with the gmail account?

Don’t know. I’m unable to explore further as I can’t get into my Shopify area as I’m not the administrator. So I’m not saying it’s not a Shopify problem. I just don’t know. Last night I did find Google workspace was cancelled by the admin. Possibly this is why no Gmail account that’s working. But I can’t get ahold of the admin. He’s said to be taking a mental break.

you have to be able to login to the gmail account.  until you can do that no reason to look further

Hi, @supqueen 
It sounds like the Gmail account for your Shopify store may not have been set up properly.
You can update it in your Shopify settings under Settings -> Notifications -> Verify to ensure you're receiving inquiries.

It worked all along until it didn’t. So it had to be set up correctly.  I delved deeper at Google and even though I can see that account and play around with it, that the administrator had ended the Google workspace account. So maybe it’s the fact there’s no work space account? Why he’d do that is a mystery. I’m unable to reach him after 12 attempts. Don’t know what to do next.
