I have been trying to reopen my old store but a new one opened instead and so far no success in getting the old one open. has anyone ever had this problem and how did you solve this issue

Hey, @Joy77!

 

As mentioned by @ScottDigitalMar you can try using our recovery tool here, to try and regain access to the old account. What's likely to have happened here is that a different email address was entered when you attempted to reactivate your store. When you enter an email address that's not associated with any existing store, you're automatically prompted to create a new account and store.

 

If you're unable to find your store using the tool, you can create a support ticket by visiting our support portal at this link and our support team will help you locate your store.

My email address is correct I did not enter the wrong address, I even did what you suggested by clicking the link to restore my store and it is the same address

Hi @Joy77 !

 

You might want to double check if you the correct email address that you entering to reopen your old store is correct to avoid creating a new one. To do so, use the Shopify recovery tool. It will let you see all the stores you had under the email address that you are going to enter.
