Upsell app not working with sunrise theme

I am trying to use the upsell app to show additional products a customer can buy on a page. I have tried multiple apps but none of them are showing up. I believe it may be an issue due to the theme I am using (sunrise). On the upsell page it mentions if there is an issue with the theme I can can insert this code to get it to work.

I assume for this I am editing css on the product template page but have no clue where to place it. Any help is greatly appreciated.

It can depends on many things. First of all does Sunrise theme supports Online Store 2.0? If so install an Upsell app that supports it so you do not need to copy/paste code but you can add directly the app as a block from the Theme Editor. If the app still needs you to paste some code it means it is old and soon it won't be supported anymore.

I believe it is a shopify2.0 theme. I am able to put the upsell app block in the product template but nothing is displayed after doing so.
